We Are Like Santa Claus For Shippers

K & L Freight Management is like Santa Claus - We understand the concept of bending time to make the impossible, possible.  Your freight is important and we understand that.  When your deliveries are expedited or have very specific pick up and/or delivery times, that's where we shine!  We will stop at nothing to give your freight the best odds at getting delivered by whatever your deadline is ~ whether that be Christmas morning or otherwise!  It brings us joy and that jolly feeling like warm cookies and milk when we grant all of your wishes! Wonder how we do it?  Well, just like Santa, we can't share all of our secrets!  Since all of our customers are always on the "Nice List", you too can have your freight pick up, deliver or be monitored as it's in transit over the holidays.  Your freight is too important, so we never close!  Call us at 800-770-9007 any day, any time!  Ho ho ho!

Wishing Happy Holidays and a prosperous New Year to you and yours!  We are thankful for your business in 2011 and look forward to proving ourselves over and over again in this new year!

Everything Hurts

Last night was my first night in a week doing double workouts. It blows my mind that even though I continued to workout once a day, and have been doing 2 workouts a day for a month that I would be in this much pain. Yesterday in the morning I did CardioX and last night was Back and Biceps followed by the Ab Ripper. My back and arms feel like jello and a 2x4 at the same time.

As much fun as that was for me yesterday, it is not going to compare to what I am in store for today. This morning was CardioX and tonight is Plyometrics (jump training). I would put money on me not being able to walk tomorrow. Ha ha.

Now more than ever, I can not wait until Christmas. Every Christmas my dad gets my sister and I a gift certificate for Massage Envy. And that is exactly what I need!

On a more positive note, I am reaching the end of holiday madness. I have a few odds and ends that I still need to get for a few family members, but besides that I am finished. I plan on finishing all purchases on my lunch today... at least that would be ideal.

One thing I don't think I have told anyone yet, I am an excellent baker. I can't cook, but I can bake. So on the holidays I make something yummy for my family and for Ken's family. This year I will be making a cinnamon apple coffee cake for breakfast and a cake that looks like a Christmas tree for dessert. This is not a cake that has a Christmas tree on it, it is a 3-D tree. And I go all out with it. I will decorate to make the trees look like they have snow and ornaments on it. Also I will be making money bread ornaments for my parents. Those are pretty self explanatory, but I will take lots of pictures for everyone to see!

Here are a couple pictures of the K&L Crew at our Christmas Party!

Happy Tuesday!

Cheap Date

So it is officially a week before the holidays begin!

Christmas shopping can beat up your wallet pretty bad, no to mention the bills and other expenses that hit you every month.

I can get pretty antsy sometimes and I am always looking for fun things to do in my area that are very inexpensive.

Once a week Ken and I have a little "Date Night" and tonight we are going to get out of the house, have a nice peaceful evening, and the best part is IT WON'T COST A DIME!

We will be going to the annual Larsen's Christmas Light Show in Elburn, IL. You pull up to this house turn your radio to their channel and watch over 225000 lights dancing to the music. It can be very romantic and really gets you into the holiday spirit. It is one of my favorite things to do right before Christmas.

It is a perfect way to do something nice for someone special in your life. Another great thing about it is that it is very kid friendly. You can bring the youngin's and they will be sure to be entertained all night.

Larson Christmas Light Show 2011

It's Here!!

Ladies and Gentleman!

I would like to make a very important announcement!

P90x2 has offically arrived!

Yes, thats right, I am a P90x addict. Their is nothing better than waking up and having a little Tony time. Now before anyone gets too excited, I will be finishing this last month of the doubles routine before taking on this new challenge. I would really like to stop and start the new one, but I am 52 days in to this 90 day workout and have not skipped one lesson. Plus I am pretty sure I am going to need the doubles to warm up for the second one! The P90x2 trailer scares me. But no worries, I will beat it!

P90x2 Trailer

If their is anything I can do to help with any expedited freight, local shipping, airfreight, or full truck load please call me! We go to all 50 states and we can get their fast!

Everyone enjoy this beautiful day we are having! Haha.

Addition to the K&L Family!

We have a new addition to our family. We are new parents of a happy, healthy, brand new refrigerated sprinter to add to our fleet! As any new parent, we have a braggin’ picture to show. And, unlike many pictures of newborns where they look like little versions of prize fighters or miniature old men, this newbie truly looks gorgeous inside and out. As you can see by the picture, the graphics on this bad boy look like we walked right onto the set of Pimp My Ride or Monster Garage.

What you can’t see in the picture is that the double insulation and the efficient refrigeration unit can hold your expedited/exclusive temperature controlled cargo down to 0 degrees. Also, we have an added external lock on the doors that satisfies security requirements, keeping your high value pharmaceuticals or food ingredients safe and protected.

Obviously this beauty will not just be driven to church on Sundays. We are ready to move those time sensitive, temp controlled shipments of yours.

Another example of K&L going the extra mile!

The Final Countdown!

Good Morning!

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend as much as I did!

Friday night was my last day of double workouts for an entire week! Saturday - Monday the 19th will be one per day. And you have no idea how happy that makes me. I have been doing 2-workouts a day for 3 weeks now. And it is so draining.

This break couldn't have come at a better time, Saturday was the K&L Christmas Party and it was absolutely perfect. We played a lot of fun games, danced, had a great dinner, and took pictures. They weren't just any regular pictures though... we had a company that came and took "Photo booth" pictures (Like the ones in the middle of the mall) They brought all kinds of dress up masks and props, it was probably the coolest thing I have ever seen! Everyone jumped right in and got goofy with it. I looked at all the pictures that next morning and literally fell to the floor laughing.

Everyone at K&L is so close with one another, we are able to just completely let loose and be so dorky that it is fun. I have never met another person who enjoys work events more than the people here. We really are like a big family.

Every year all of my coworkers pitch in and buy a present for our boss. I truly believe that this year was our best gift yet! We got a K&L Corn hole game. At the Christmas party we all got assigned a teammate and we will be having a in house competition. My partner is Bill! He is our local dispatch manager. I haven't seen him play yet, but I hope he's good because I can get very competitive! Ha ha.

Since I was so busy this weekend with Party planning and hanging out with the family, I am finding myself falling further and further behind on my Christmas gifts. I still have some shopping to do and I only have 1 present wrapped! To top it all off last night I noticed that this next weekend is the last weekend before the Holidays! It's CRUNCH TIME!!!

This Can't Be Happening

I had a very sad morning today.

I opened my blinds and saw our first snow fall.

Not having a garage when it snows is dreadful. I opened my car door and all the snow on my car flew in and landed on my driver seat. It was at that very moment that I realized that it is winter. I have been in denial for so long.

I do enjoy the snow when it comes to snow sports. I like to ski, tube, and ride snow mobiles... but besides that all it does is make my life so much more inconvenient. As I mentioned earlier, I have no garage so my car has to warm up for about 30 minutes before I go anywhere... When I take Kooter outside to go to the bathroom I have to stand knee deep in the snow and wait for 20 minutes while he sniffs every tree... then when we get back inside I have to wipe his feet and it is very difficult to get him to cooperate.

The worst part of it all is the parking lot at my apartment complex. The way the lot is set up is their are a bunch of separate squares with about 20 spots each. When the snow plow comes through to clear out the roads they dump all of the snow and block every ones car in. When we had that big blizzard last year, their was 4foot wall behind my car. I didn't even have a shovel so Ken had to drive to Home Depot at 7 in the morning to dig me out. Luckily he has a lifted truck with tires that are almost taller than me, so he was able to just back up over the mound.

I can't wait until my nice little Florida vacation. It will be a nice break from the lovely Chicago weather!

Their is one thing I would like to brag about! Last year we had a few major snow falls that practically shut down the entire area. In the transportation industry weather plays a huge roll in the ability to make pickup and delivery times. K&L made it through those storms without having to shutdown, without having any accidents, and we made each pickup and delivery time. It wasn't easy, but our drivers are well educated and are capable of handling anything that comes at them.

We are very good at what we do, and we are only getting better and better as time goes on.

If you need any assistance with any expedited shipping, local shipping, or air freight please give me a call!

Let's have a great day!

The Long Run

Good Morning! I hope everyone had a nice evening.

There is one topic of conversation that doesn't get mentioned as much as it should. It is a topic that you may think comes standard with any company, but it most certainly does not.

Customer Service.

What truly makes K&L stand out from the rest is we are not interested in doing "one and done" shipments with any customers. What we strive for is to work with our customers as a team, build long term relationships, and always providing each customer with the best service possible. No exceptions. This is why we run 24/7. We appreciate each customer; we want everyone to know that we are here for them and can always find an answer to their questions at any given point in time.

This does not include an after hour number that tells you to call back during regular business hours. No matter if it is the middle of the night or on weekends, we watch each shipment like hawks, and are constantly getting updates to make sure everything runs smoothly from start to finish.

Just in this past year alone I have had the privilege of meeting so many interesting people that I never would have met otherwise. Honestly, that is the best part of my job. I love when customer’s call me with a shipment they need moved immediately, but I love it just as much when customers call just to say HI! It makes each day fun. Those are the types of relationships that we build, and the only reason we can do it, is because we genuinely care.

With K&L no customer is ever just a number.

That is what customer service is all about.
You should not expect anything less.

A new additon to our fleet has been made! Say Hello to our new sprinter van!

Cookie Overdose

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

For me, this weekend was absolutely perfect! Friday night I spent with Tony Horton doing P90X. After that I could barely keep my eyes open. I had to make sure that I pushed it really hard because Saturday was my "cheat" day. I knew in the back of my mind that I would be scarfing cookies for breakfast lunch and dinner. And I did!

All the girls and my family got together and baked all day. We made so many cookies that I told Ken that he has to eat at least a dozen a day. Unfortunately, I can no longer eat any of them. I had my day to eat them, now I have to find the strength to keep to my diet. No matter how dedicated you are, turning down holiday traditions is by far the hardest to overcome.

Sunday was my recovery day. It was the Rest and Stretch work out... so I chose to rest. I pretty much slept all day. It couldn't have been any more perfect. At night Ken and I had a nice steak dinner and rented a RedBox movie. Then right back to sleep I went!

I have a very busy week ahead of me, so Sunday was crucial for survival! Between finishing up Christmas shopping, wrapping all the gifts, preparing for the K&L Christmas Party, and pulling doubles... It's going to be interesting.

No matter how busy I get, I am always willing to drop everything and help every one of my customers with any shipping needs they have. When I say we are 24/7 I mean it! :-)

Wish me Luck! :-)

Designer Christmas Tree?

The other night we put up our Christmas tree. I didn’t know there were “designer color themes” for trees. All I cared about was that my Chicago Bears ornament, the Somebody in Cincinnati Loves Me ornament, and my lucky golden golfball ornament made it on the tree. Unfortunately, since these didn’t meet the color pallet requirements I was vetoed, however arrangements have been made for a second tree that will be decorated with my oddball trinity. I assumed my normal duties for this event.

After bringing the boxes of decorations, I set up the tree, untangled the lights and got the heck out of the way. From that point, it was pure bliss for me to watch my lovely wife decorate the tree all the while old holiday music played bringing fond memories of Christmas days of old. Watching her laser-focus decorating that tree was like watching an artist paint a fresh canvas or like watching a hall of fame bound quarterback orchestrate a 90 yard, game winning, scoring drive with less than two minutes remaining. Beautiful.

I pray that you all have a similar Kodak moment.

It Never Fails

Last night was a very long and uneventful night for me.

As many of you know, I currently do not have feeling in my left leg due to a pinched nerve in my hip. I was doing my second workout of the day with P90X, everything was going fine. The workout was Back and Biceps and I was doing what they call Lawnmowers and I felt a little pop in my left arm. After pausing for a second I realized that my arm had gone numb as well. So I now have 2 pinched nerves on my left side. Luckily it doesn't hurt so even though it is probably not a good idea to keep going, I will.

Doing this program is more mental for me than it is physical. I do not like to stop things half way through. Sometimes I can be very stubborn :) It was the way I was raised.

Not only was it the way I was brought up, but it is also the base to what K&L stands for.

We are a family business that has made great successes over the years. The reason for these successes are simple. We do not give up. We like to call ourselves "Problem Solvers". When there is a problem or an extremely urgent shipment that may seem impossible at first glance. We are all willing and able to think outside of the box so that we can meet your needs. There is never only 1 solution to a problem. And we will find the best solution that will get your product from point A to point B safely and timely.

We may not be the every day carrier, but when it gets down to the wire, we are the best.

With the year coming to an end, things get crazy. I am here to help you 24/7.

Fake-Cation!

After a nice long fake-cation, I am back and ready to rumble.

*I say fake-cation because I didn't actually go anywhere besides the mall!

I took a few days to get a head start on all of the Holiday madness! As of right now I am about 65% done with Christmas shopping!

Everything is running very smoothly so far except for one minor detail. I wanted to get my Christmas tree and other decorations set up but I can not get to them! Apparently you have to have a key to get into the room that has my "locker.'" Their is only 1 key per floor. So I have to wait for someone to return the key to the main lobby. This could take weeks! If I don't ask for the key at the perfect time someone else will taken and keep it for a few more days. And that my friends really grinds my gears!

This storage locker also contains my wrapping paper! So I can not start wrapping until I get the key either! I would just go and buy more, but I have a life time supply that I got from Costco last winter so I can not get myself to make any unnecessary purchases. Ha ha.

Even though my decorations are not set up, I am defiantly feeling the Christmas Spirit this year! We have our K&L Christmas Party in a few weeks, and the Annual Cookie Baking Day this weekend.

Cookie Baking Day is the one of the best and worst days of my life. All of the girls in my family get together and we bake cookies ALL DAY! We start at like 9am and don't finish until like 11-12pm. We make every single type of cookie you can think of; snicker doodles, gingerbread, potato chip cookies, kolaczkis, chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, cream cheese cookies, and the list goes on. It is so much fun to get together with my family and eat warm cookies all day, but at the end of the day we are all so over tired and stuffed that we can't physically do anything for the next 24 hours.

Holiday traditions are the best. If you have any unique activities or traditions feel free to comment on our blog page or shoot me an email!

If you need any assistance with hot shots, full truck load, heavy weight partials, air freight, or local work please feel free to contact me! Everything gets crazy around this time of year, so let me help take one more thing off of your plate!

Have a great day!

We're Thankful So We're Giving

This fall K & L Freight Managment employees dug through their closets and donated 32 coats to the Chicago Bears Coat Drive!  As the temperatures around Chicago are dropping quickly we wanted to do a small part to keep families warm this winter.  Have some extra coats in your closet you've collected over the years or that you kids have grown out of?  You can participate in the Chicago Bears Coat Drive, too!  Just bring your coat(s) to participating Jewel-Osco's around the Chicagoland area and drop in the receptical near the front check-out area.

Pictured below are all of our coats collected & donated to Chicago Bears Coat Drive.

Here at K & L we wish you & your families a warm & plentiful Thanksgiving, and the courage to hit the treadmill on Friday and work some of that turkey off!

Homecoming

Good Morning and Happy Monday!

I hope you had a nice weekend. Friday night my oldest son and I waited not so patiently for my youngest son’s flight home. Delays, misinformation from the airline and just the anticipation of seeing him, were a wee bit frustrating. As you can imagine, the wait was worth it as I hadn’t seen my youngest son since the end of May. We immediately took the opportunity to get him something to eat as he hadn’t had anything all day, with three exams at school, a team meeting, packing at the last minute and the old hurry up and wait at the airport.

Nourishment for me was watching my two boys talk, laugh and tease each other again at the dinner table as if no time had passed at all. Yet there was also something different. Between the two was a sense of heightened thankfulness and appreciation that left them hanging onto every word, savoring the conversation as if it were the finest of meals. At one point, my wife just looked at me quizzically as I became quiet while observing all this. (me and quiet are not often in the same sentence) I just gave her a knowing wink and a nod letting her know I was making sure the guys got what they needed. Heck it’s what I needed too.

Thanksgiving week is here! Nothing like shoving a whole week into a few days. Let us know if we can help cover loads or run expedited to make it in time before the extended holiday weekend.

It Happened Again!

So yesterday I wrote about how I go Christmas shopping for my sister, and end up keeping everything I buy.... Well, it happened again!

Last night Ken and I went to Stratford Square Mall to do a little shopping and then go see the movie Footloose. We went into a few stores, and I picked out a few things that I thought she would really like. Turns out I liked them too. I bought her 3 gifts and decided to keep 2 for myself.

Now I have a cute new pair of shoes and a scarf. To top it off I am wearing the scarf today! ha ha.

What I really need to do is shop for her at the last possible second, that way I don't have any other choice but to give them to her!

The biggest disappointment that night was the movie. I had such high expectations, and it didn't come close to them. It was kind of cool though, we were the only ones in the theater because the Twilight Saga came out at midnight so everyone there was standing in line for that movie.

Even though I really wanted to go see that movie, I did not envy the people standing in line for 4 hours. Every morning I wake up between 4 and 4:30... I only would have gotten about 2 hours of sleep. NO THANK YOU!

Today is going to be a good day for me. I can already tell.
Hardy breakfast, a 5hour energy, and freight. :-)

Please call me if you need any assistance.
And always feel free to check out our website and other blogs!

Have a great day!

Holiday Madness

Good Morning!

I want to start of by saying I am in love with this new App that I downloaded. It is a Christmas list organizer. You can enter everyone that you have to shop for, gifts purchased, gift ideas, and helps you stay within your budget. It is the best $1.99 I've ever spent. It's called MGifts.

I tend to forget what I've already bought, and have forgotten people in the past. So this is a huge life saver! My family always goes all out on Christmas. And now that I have 3 Christmas's to prepare for... I don't have time to make those mistakes. Especially since I now host one as well.

I have to shop for 18 people and 9 dogs. And because we get so into it, I have to get at least 3 gifts per person/pet. Part of that has to do with my inability to stay in control at the stores but the other reason is because I am a little bit of a control freak and believe that each person should unwrap 3 gifts.

One thing that I need to make sure doesn't happen this year is buying things I like for my sister. We have extremely similar taste in technology, clothes, shoes, etc. so I always go shopping and then decide that I want to keep everything I bought her. So I do. And then I have to go back to the store to get her presents. Ha ha.

Even though it can sting a little when you swipe that magic plastic card through the machine, when I see my family open their gifts and see their reaction... Nothing makes me happier.

Christmas is coming up fast, so even though I am partly in denial about it being winter already, I am very excited.

Let's not forget about the big Thanksgiving Feast! The countdown has begun!

Let's get all of your shipping taken care of so you can relax on the holidays with your family!

Bustin' It

So as many of you know, I am a very dedicated fan of P90X.

This morning was Core Synergistics. For this workout you basically have to flex every muscle the entire time. In my previous track I did not have to do this workout, but now that I am starting Doubles (working out twice a day) I now have to do this one.

As you do each DVD your performance gets better and better. Some of which is because you are becoming more physically fit, but a lot of it has to do with being able to predict the next move. Today I could not do this. It was so hard for me that I was exhausted and disappointed. I feel like it was the first time I had ever worked out. All of my coordination and balance was gone, and I couldn't do any of the advanced moves. :-(

I was moving around like a chicken with their head cut off. Not something anyone wants to see! ha ha.

Sometimes that happens, sometimes you can't predict what will be coming your way. Weather it be exercising, work, or just life in general.

One thing that I am most proud of is being able to be the one to help someone in need. The service we provide is not typical everyday freight. I am always there for my customers when standard LTL doesn't cut it. I am here to help solve problems by finding a solution that fits the needs of each customer. And it is the best feeling when someone comes to you all frantic and you are able to relieve stress and they know that it will be done. Properly.

K&L is a great company with employees that dedicate their lives to this industry.

When things get crazy, I am the one you want to call!

Free Puppies!

So yesterday I was driving home from the grocery store and I saw a lady standing on the side of a street with a sign that said FREE PUPPIES! It wasn't for a pet shop or anything she just had a cardboard box with little puppy heads sticking out of it.

Of course I had to pull over and see them, and I was inches away from buying a little baby Husky, but then I remembered that I already have a dog and live in a 2 bedroom apartment... That doesn't leave me with very much space! So sadly I walked away from this adorable black and white little boy that was being sold for $100.00 :-( That is such a good deal too!

I am a huge sucker for dogs. I love them more than anything. Everyone in my family makes fun of me saying that instead of being the crazy cat lady, I will be the crazy dog lady. Sometimes I watch Animal Hoarders TV show and could really see myself like that. 50 dogs all at once. Totally a possibility.

Just in case anyone is curious! The Easton Corbin concert was absolutely amazing! He was so good live, and the opening band Dirt Drifters was good as well. That was the first time I had ever been to Joe's Bar, and I defiantly have to go back for more shows!

The rest of my weekend was pretty relaxing, the only thing I did besides eat and sleep was go to Costco and Jewel. Costco was fun, they sell 48 packs of 5hour energies. I shouldn't be tired for the next 2 months! ha ha. I also bought a huge roast that I will be cooking for the 90min. special episode of Sons of Anarchy tomorrow night.

I wanted to make something special because a lot of crazy things are going to happen in this episode and it will just top off a perfect evening.

- If you don't know or have never herd of Sons of Anarchy, you are missing out! Season 4 is almost over, but there is nothing better than spending an entire weekend on your couch watching multiple seasons of a TV show. No commercials, and you don't have to wait a week for the next episode.

Let's have a great week!
Please call for any questions, quotes, or just to chit-chat!

Roll With It

Good morning and a VERY Happy Friday to you!

Normally my weekends are filled with fun and laundry, so I don't see why this one should be any different!

Tonight is the Easton Corbin concert at Joe's Bar in Chicago. I am going to enjoy Ken's grand prize for winning Employee of the Quarter! My favorite song by Mr. Corbin is Roll With It

Saturday (after completing my KenpoX) I will be heading out to the lovely Davis Junction, IL. I really enjoy going out there because Kooter really gets a chance to run out all of the energy he has built up throughout the week. My goal for Monday is to have him be so tired that he just sleeps all next week. This way he doesn't get mad at me for locking him up! Ha ha.

I have the best intentions to clean and get caught up on laundry and dishes this Sunday... But since that probably won't happen... I want to go to Olde North Pancake House (on route 64 and St. Charles Rd.) eat myself into a food coma and sleep all day!

Sometimes I wish there was a place you could go to like the places in the movie Inception. Where they just put you into the deepest sleep possible for hours on end. Even though that movie is crazy, if the opportunity presented itself to me, I don't think I could decline! Ha ha.

Since today is Veterans Day, I would like to make a shout out to everyone who is serving or has served for this country! Without you guys, the country that we all know and love would not be the same. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart!

Lets move some freight today! HOTSHOTS HOTSHOTS HOTSHOTS!
I am all hopped up on a 5hour energy so BRING IT ON!!!! :-)

Hockey Fight!

Even though the Black Hawks got their butts kicked last night, I still think it was a great game! Not only are you watching your favorite team play, but the crowd there adds to the excitement. Everyone there is not afraid to get a little rowdy. And I love watching the other team getting creamed in a hockey fight! There were multiple last night, and I so wish I had seats right up by the glass so I could see it first hand!... Maybe even contribute by pounding on the glass! ha ha.

I went with some of my favorite people, so I knew it was going to be a great night no matter what! P.S.: Jenica is absolutely adorable!!

Saturday night, one of our very own got married! Even though we were there to congratulate Katlyn and celebrate with her on her special day, a lot was learned that night about all of my fellow co-workers.

We have a few dancing machines over here! Our operations team (Ken, Dave, Al, Tony, and Don) were dancing nonstop! Dave was doing the worm (extremely well) and some Irish Jig dancing, Ken was line dancing, and Al was doing a little moshing! It was probably the funniest thing I have ever seen in my life.

In the last year K&L has been adding more and more tractor trailers to our fleet. We have done this due to the high demand for Local and Domestic Full Truckloads. We want to make sure that we can give our customers the option to use us for any of their shipping needs. We want to serve every customer, large or small, with the best service possible.

Plus, I think we are a lot of fun to work with! ha ha.

If you would like learn more about K&L or interested in what others here are up too, please feel free to subscribe to our blog by clicking below!

Good Ol' Garth

Good Afternoon!

Thursday nights Ken and I usually make it appoint to go out and do something random and fun. I love it because it really helps get you out of a weekly routine. But last night I fell asleep at 7:30pm. Even though I am sad that we didn't get to go out, I am extremely well rested today.

When ever I am in an extremely good mood I always have to Rock out to some Garth Brooks at my desk.

I can't decide which song I like more! It is between Papa Loved MaMa and That Summer.

If you love him like I do feel free to comment or send me an email with your favorite song!
If you are not a fan, SHAME ON YOU! Haha.

The first person who subscribes to K&L's blog (you can do so by clicking below) will get a basket of goodies delivered by the one and only ME!
--> In order to win you must also comment!

Have a great weekend!

Trick? or Treat

This is the First Halloween I have been home to pass out candy to Trick or Treaters.

It was pretty funny because I didn't know people did that in apartments. I was not prepared! If I would have had one more person knock on my door I would have dumped Captain Crunch Cereal in their bag. That is the only thing I had left that wasn't fruit or vegetables.

I have never had to use my peep hole on my front door until last night. If there were little kids I would give them candy. If they were the same age as me I didn't even bother. At some point its like, if you want candy that bad drive yourself to the grocery store and grab a bag of skittles for $2. Ha ha. That's what I do!

It got me thinking though, when the kids say TRICK OR TREAT... does anyone really say trick? If I were a parent that would freak me out if someone said "No candy, but please walk into my house for your trick..." It is totally creepy.

I am so happy to say goodbye to October!! Finally all of the horror movie trailers will simmer down! TV started to make me angry, every time a trailer would come on or a commercial for an As Seen On TV Movie I would have to hit mute. Little things like that give me anxiety attacks. Don't ask why, I can't explain it myself.

Toot Toot!

Happy Halloween!

Today is the annual K&L Potluck!

This year we are having a little contest for whoever brings in the best dish. The winner gets two tickets to the Hawks game tonight!

The winner hasn't been decided yet, but there is no doubt in my mind that I will walk away with the Grand Prize! I made beef stew and twice baked potatoes. I have no problem tooting my own horn when I say, I rocked that recipe!

This weekend was a nice long weekend for me! So today I am a little over energized. But I am ready to move Hot Shots and Full Truck Loads.

Since it is the last day of the month things are moving twice as fast!
Thank goodness that everyone here has so much experience to handle hot loads under a lot of pressure.

It probably doesn't help that I stand over them constantly making sure everything is perfect!

Even though I give them a hard time they aways do a great job for me and my customers, so I feel bad that I am the reason our dispatcher's hair is turning gray.

Please feel free to subscribe to my blog below to see what a few other K&L'ers have to say!

In the Spirit of Halloween Here is the Ultimate Halloween Music Video!

Free Bird

Today is the big day! Lynyrd Skynyrd and ZZ Top. It doesn’t get much better than that! Since I had to wake up at 4:15 this morning to get in my P90X (Yoga) workout, I am going to take the 2 hour drive to catch up on some rest. The last thing I want is to fall asleep at the concert.

Believe it or not, it has happened. I went to a John Mayer concert with my mom, sister, and aunt. And I woke up during the encore.

Kooter always gets mad at me on Thursday and Friday mornings when I tell him I have to go to work. So this morning when he gave me the “I hate you for locking me up again look” I tried to tell him that he will have fun tonight playing with Ken’s Dad’s dogs, Wyatt Earp and Josie Wales.

I think that made him even more upset because I got him all excited thinking he was coming with me. I have never met a dog that loved being in the car as much as him.

Last night I found out some devastating news. Kooter’s Halloween costume does not fit. They sent me the wrong size! I now have a costume for a Miniature Pincher. It was that small. So I had to make an emergency run to Party City and PetCo to find a costume. Kooter is now going to be a jail dog. It’s got a little hat and wraps around his legs. Best part is that it was on clearance!

My costume still has not come in the mail yet! And I need it for Saturday night! Hopefully it will deliver today; I wish that company had an amazing expediter such as myself! J I would have had that costume in my hands lickety-split!

That being said today I would like to put a focus on Hotshots. We have the capability to run ground hotshots in cargo vans (1-2 skids) sprinters (1-4 skids) straight trucks, and tractor trailers. We will send them anywhere you need to go! And if you need it there faster, don’t forget we are also an indirect air carrier, so I can push to get you on the next flight out or next day service!

Free Bird Video - Enjoy!!
